Cargill to dedicate expanded meat processing plant; workforce there will nearly double by year's end

State officials including Gov. Pete Ricketts will join Cargill executives in Columbus next week to dedicate the company’s remodeled meat processing plant.

Cargill spent $111 million to expand the plant by 50 percent, converting it from a fresh ground beef plant to a cooked meats operation making food like cooked ground beef, sausage and hot dogs.
