From what you may have seen or read in recent years, you might wonder about the state of manufacturing in Tennessee. Well, there are actually a number of reasons to be optimistic.
According to the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Tennessee manufacturers contribute $48 billion each year to the state’s Gross Domestic Product, with over 5,000 firms across the state employing 330,000 Tennesseans. The average annual job compensation for those involved in Tennessee manufacturing is $66,431. That is substantially higher than what it is for many other industries in our Volunteer State.
