Manufacturers and Employees Deserve Health Care Reform

Rising health care and insurance costs make it increasingly harder for manufacturers and businesses to provide good coverage options to their employees. As a result, a majority of people see health care as their top policy concern, with 54 percent of Americans disapproving of legislation like the Affordable Care Act (ACA), according to a study by the Pew Research Center.

Burdensome health care regulations present numerous challenges for manufacturers in the U.S. In fact, according to a recent National Association of Manufacturers’ (NAM) survey, nearly 75 percent of members rank health care and insurance costs as a top business challenge.

The newly sworn in 115th Congress and President-elect Donald Trump’s administration should implement proposals and plans to reform burdensome administrative requirements and reduce taxes on employee benefits. Manufacturers and employees need more flexibility and coverage options and tools to help Americans make educated health care decisions.

Ninety-eight percent of manufacturers provide health care insurance to employees and are committed to continuing to do so in the future. President-elect Trump and Congress must work with manufacturers to eliminate roadblocks and barriers to accessible health care to ensure a healthy and strong workforce and economy.

Manufacturers, sign the petition to tell Washington that it’s time to end the ACA today!
