Today, President Donald J. Trump has invited a delegation of manufacturers, led by National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) President and CEO Jay Timmons, to join him at the White House as he signs an official Presidential proclamation declaring October 6th as “National Manufacturing Day.” In celebration, President Trump is deploying several senior members of his Cabinet to join the NAM and The Manufacturing Institute at Manufacturing Day events across the country. This year, there are approximately 3,000 events nationwide.
Administration officials celebrating Manufacturing Day include Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta, Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency Scott Pruitt, and Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway. The officials will underscore tax reform’s importance to the future of modern manufacturing. In addition, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Paul Ryan joined manufacturers in Chestertown, Maryland yesterday for a Manufacturing Day event.
