The energy landscape in the U.S. is constantly changing and evolving. Manufacturers and families across the country depend on innovative technologies and a broad mix of resources to keep energy affordable. It’s how manufacturers in the U.S. maintain a competitive advantage and can afford to grow and hire more employees.
However, policies from Washington often serve to restrict energy resources and development, instead of encouraging it. This must change. President-elect Trump and newly sworn in members of the 115th Congress must work closely with manufacturers to drive much-needed energy infrastructure projects and maximize our energy advantage to support American jobs and boost our economy. The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and Friends of Manufacturing stand behind these efforts and are offering solutions to embrace sensible energy policies.
Although energy production and access has increased over the past eight years, there is still much to be done. To ensure America is maximizing our energy advantage, President-elect Trump and the 115th Congress must promote more research and development, deploy innovative technologies that boost energy efficiency, reduce regulatory barriers that prevent energy production and stifle progress on infrastructure projects, and provide a reliable electric grid for manufacturers to access when they need energy.
