The focus of the senators visit is the rural manufacturing community. The Brookville Equipment Corporation employs nearly 300 people. Senator Casey was able to see first hand the effects the business reaches throughout the country. The business builds rail cars and locomotives for major cities throughout the country.
"We have street cars running in Philadelphia, New Orleans, Dallas," explains Joel McNeil, Vice President of Business Development.
The company has to stay competitive with prices- but it can be difficult because of the threat of outsourcing. "We have great paying jobs here so it is a struggle to compete against potentially, some of these foreign suppliers," says McNeil.
