Students get up-close look at manufacturing jobs – 'career opportunities that will be waiting' (Omaha World-Herald)


Kira Smith, a junior at Northwest High School, donned a welder’s black cap, black coat, safety mask and a pair of heat-resistant gloves. Under the tutelage of welding inspector Gene King, she laid down a weld on a steel practice piece as a group of high school students and officials at Distefano Technology and Manufacturing, an Omaha metal fabricating company, looked on.
